Alvilde David-Andersen

Alvilde David-Andersen is 5th generation goldsmith. She knew from a young age that she wanted to follow in her family's footsteps and become a goldsmith. She grew up with stories about goldsmiths and ancestors who experienced national and international recognition for their craftmanship. From a young age, she visited the D-A workshop and Uni David-Andersen played a big part in her development as a jeweller and has been a huge inspiration. Visits to auctions and antique dealers in Norway and in the UK with her father was also the beginning of her passion.

Both before, during and after her education, she worked at David-Andersen's flagship store at Karl Johan in Oslo. Here she gained good knowledge about jewellery, materiale, hi-end brands and exceptional customer care.

Today she is 36 years old with her own jewellery collections and workshops. She has participated in art and jewellery exhibitions -joint and separate, fashion week's and fashion shows at home and abroad.

After nine years with a lovely goldsmith store in the mainstreet of the silver city,- in 2018 she changed the operation to focus on the craft itself and “by appointment”. That also made it possible to “create from anywhere in the world”.

In the old production building at "Myntverket" / the coin factory she also established the non-profit art association, "Verk-Stedet" -together with artist and CEO Patricio Esteban Briceno in 2016. There they have held art exhibitions, courses and workshops for schools, kids and professionals - organized by artists.

As a goldsmith, Alvilde David-Andersen focuses on a few exclusive collections and bespoke pieces. A.D-A believes in hard work in combination with open senses - let your ear, nose, eyes and taste inspire to new forms and expressions. At the same time, she experiences great inspiration in meeting with animals and people.

In 2020, Alvilde David-Andersen moved to the Uk to get new impulses from a different culture, in the same field. Here she’s working for a family owned high end jeweller in the Cotswolds, and her own A.D-A pieces is being made in her workshop, close to the nature and the animals that she loves so much.
